All cable and most residential DSL Internet Service Providers (ISPs) intend their service for downloading from other sites, as opposed to hosting your own site. This forces you to sign-up for a separate web-hosting service if you want to post your information to the web. For small, static sites, this can generally be satisfied by using personal webhosting provided at free or low cost by many ISPs. But if your site is larger than 5 MB or if you wish to have a dynamic website, then your choices are limited.

The concept behind host-proxy.com is that we will provide a cache of the website you maintain on your own system. Outside users will access our cache copy, getting a duplicate copy of everything you want to present on the web. We will periodically refresh our image of your own computer's web-pages using non-web accesses (that won't be blocked by your ISP). This is especially useful if you maintain webcam images that are regularly updated, or if you maintain other dynamic information (such as the weather or ???).

Because we consolidate a large number of users just like you, we can offer this service at a very low cost. Each user is permitted 100 MB of space for storing their website – this supports thousands of images and web-pages.
